Collaborate

A great building is the result of designers, architects, engineers, and contractors all working together. To facilitate open collaboration, Archicad supports more than 40 export and import formats, including DWG, PDF, XLS, and SAF, as well as the manufacturer-independent and industry-standards IFC and BCF.

Native Survey Point

Streamline your coordination workflows thanks to the Native Survey Point in Archicad. Set and lock your project’s survey point and use it to coordinate with stakeholders — regardless of the software they’re using. Survey Point supports IFC and BCF file exchange and offers better interoperability with conventional file formats, like DWG.

Interoperability with Revit

Better collaboration with engineers using Revit MEP software

Support for Revit file formats up to 2021 is now built in to Archicad. Import RFA as a native Archicad Object and create MEP equipment from Revit Family files. Export a 3D model as Revit 3D geometry and hotlink a 3D RVT model. Archicad now handles Revit’s Discipline filter, so when you hotlink a Revit file, what you see in Revit is what you get in Archicad.

Easy migration from Revit to Archicad

Re-use previous project files when migrating from Revit to Archicad, thanks to the RFA & RVT geometry exchange functionality.

Solibri Connection improvements

Solibri is the industry leading code and constructability checking application. Save time and eliminate errors in roundtrips thanks to the Archicad-Solibri Connection add-on, free for all users. With the latest improvements, you can select Solibri’s current Selection Basket items in Archicad and view them in the same camera position.

Better IFC export, less effort, more information

Exchange model geometry and data easily thanks to the improved IFC export process, which now automatically distinguishes between Openings and Geometric Holes, supports Geometric Holes in Shells, and identifies components by their Building Materials even for composites and complex profiles.

Collaboration with consultants just got easier

Populate your model with information by importing Excel sheets from your consultant into Archicad. Available as a Technology Preview, now even Hotlink Modules are supported!

Structural Analytical Model Improvements

Generation Rules enhancements

Generation Rules help structural engineers avoid heavy manual work on the Structural Analytical model. Archicad adds performance enhancing functions, like Improvement of Offset Adjustments and Connection Range, Eliminating Overlapping Parts of 2D Members, and Streamlined Structural Supports.

New Handling of Structural Loads

Collaborate with structural engineers without data loss. When opening the engineer’s SAF model, Archicad recognizes and displays loads and load data. View and manage loads and load-related information on any model view, such as floor plans, sections, and elevations. Engineers can view and compare all load cases at once or choose specific ones when checking updated models.

FRILO Connection

Exchange structural models between Archicad and FRILO with a simple click — and no risk of sharing outdated information.  Select an element (or the entire model) and click on Open in FRILO to analyze your Structural Analytical Model.

Design

Archicad makes creating great architecture easier in many small ways — offering a significant boost in convenience, accuracy, and efficiency.

New residential and commercial furniture

39 new contemporary furnishings – modular kitchen cabinets, sofas, clothes hangers, curtains, coat racks, tables, chairs, mattresses, and grills — are now part of the default Archicad library, totaling over 1,300 parametric objects.

Quick shift between 2D and 3D views

Working in 3D, but need to edit a component in 2D? Simply select the element and open it in any other view. Moving back and forth between 2D and 3D is just as easy.

Polygonal Openings

Get accurate quantity estimates with customizable polygonal openings that will fit your MEP elements exactly.

Rhino 6 and 7 live connection improvements

Leverage the power of the industry-leading free-form organic design tool, then switch to Archicad to continue the design development and documentation processes.

Stair Tool Improvements

New Along Chord stair construction geometry method

Comply with specific local standards when defining the length of stairs’ walking lines thanks to a new calculation algorithm. The existing Along Arc geometry method is still available and can be used with either algorithm.

New tread symmetry combinations for all winder types

Quickly and easily define and edit custom stairs that follow your design intent thanks to a new stair winder option called Turning Point — Asymmetric Going.

New Stair Landing control

Automatically distribute the extra landing length equally from the landing start, middle, or end. This is especially useful when adapting an existing staircase to a changing design environment.

High quality models with Archicad

In addition to checking for duplicate and fully overlapping elements, Archicad can now check for partially overlapping model elements as well. Deliver models with full confidence using this Technology Preview feature!

Visualize

Translate your conceptual designs into compelling presentations thanks to Archicad’s powerfularchitectural visualization tools. Bring your models to life, inspire the audience, and invite stakeholders to immerse themselves in your designs.

Surface-textures-1024x529

Display surface textures in sections and elevations

Communicate your designs in life-like detail. Display your surface textures directly in section and elevation views without the need for post-processing software.

Realistic soft-shadow and cover fill option on textures

Present your designs with accurate, artistic details. Use soft shadows to add contours and depth to your surfaces in section and elevation views. Overlay textures with the pattern fill of your choice. Your client gets a better picture of the model, and you get faster approvals.

Native Metal graphics technology for Mac users

3D rendering on Mac is faster than ever! Archicad now uses Metal, Apple’s new graphics API, replacing Open GL. Metal has near-direct access to the graphics processing unit, resulting in faster rendering speeds.

Redshift rendering engine out of the box

Introducing Redshift by Maxon from Archicad 25. Available as a Technology Preview for Archicad SSA/Forward subscribers, the world’s first fully GPU-accelerated biased rendering engine has been built to meet the specific demands of contemporary high-end production rendering. Redshift offers a suite of powerful features tailored to support creative individuals and practices of every size.

Get the right balance between rendering quality and speed!

Control the level of grass texture detail to achieve high quality renders for close-ups or reduce it for faster landscape renders.

Document

Deliver error-free documentation that automatically follows your design and complies with regulations and local standards.

Zones in section and elevation views

Document zone-specific data on project views automatically and precisely with the new Zone Labels — without manual work arounds.

Wall-with-openings-web

More precise cost estimations in component lists

Deliver cost estimations with greater accuracy thanks to enhancements in component listing and calculation methods. Calculate components’ “conditional” area and volume, in addition to net and gross values. Set up rules and conditions to fit specific local requirements to ignore openings, as necessary.

More control over schedule format

Customize your element schedules quickly and easily thanks to a flexible and consistent format. List, unify, add, or quantify even non-identical cells when merging them.
